Windows 10 – Reinstall Windows Store / Bloatware / Apps

Did you mess something up when you removed all those apps?

Look no farther, this is usually a pretty easy task!

  1. Open PowerShell as Administrator
  2. Paste the following into the PowerShell Window and wait up to 30 minutes, depending on your computer and Internet connection – Times may vary!

Get-AppxPackage -allusers | foreach {Add-AppxPackage -register “$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -DisableDevelopmentMode} -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

If all else fails – Try to run this in an elevated PowerShell and first command again

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Windows 10 Powershell to remove all bloatware apps

Because why do we want Twitter on Windows 10 Pro…or an xbox app…or 800 other things

This doesn’t disable the store, because that breaks the calculator.

There is no use of -AllUsers switch because that would only apply to the machine if the user had previously logged in. For example Bob logs into the computer and his login script executes below with -AllUsers switch Joe logs into the computer after Bob, and will still see all the apps.

You’ll need to save this in a .ps1 file!
